Santa Cecilia in Vallespinoso de Aguilar
Ermita de Santa Cecilia de Vallespinoso de Aguilar. A small Romanesque church from the late 12th century, perched on a rock. It is considered one of the jewels of Palencia's Romanesque architecture, due to its magnificent decoration on the doorway, capitals, and corbels. The church features a single nave with a unique semicircular apse, and the doorway is located on the south wall. The doorway stands out for its archivolts, some of which have intricate vegetal decoration, with capitals that alternate configured vegetal decoration. The friezes with reliefs are particularly noteworthy. The presbytery has two arcades with trilobed arches, one of which has a central capital with elaborate decorative work of helical palmettes surrounding hexapetalous flowers.
