San Justo y Pastor in Olleros de Pisuerga
San Justo y Pastor in Olleros de Pisuerga. Carved into rock, in Olleros de Pisuerga there is a church that stands out from the ordinary. It is a fascinating temple carved into the rock itself, the best example of rock-cut architecture. It dates back to the late 12th century, with a Romanesque design. The exterior presents a natural stone wall. With an access portico, it surprises us upon entering. Its interior is divided into two naves separated by arcades carved into the rock. Its roof has a pointed barrel vault. The head of the church has three semicircular apses and at the foot, there is a wooden choir. Finally, it houses a 16th-century Renaissance altarpiece and a baptismal font made from a single block of stone.
