GR1 Historical Trail
GR1 Historical Trail. GR1 MTB. Route from Brañosera, Estalaya, Cervera de Pisuerga, Triollo, Camporredondo de Alba. Marked throughout its entire route, it spans 85.3 kilometers through the Palencia Mountain. This trail starts from the archaeological excavations of the ancient city of Ampurias and reaches Finisterre in A Coruña. Covering a distance of 1600 kilometers, it traverses the entire Cantabrian Mountain Range. It is also known as the Historical Trail as it passes through towns that were very important in the Middle Ages and belonged to the kingdoms of Navarre, Aragon, and Castile and León. The GR-1 Historical Trail is a path that crosses the Palencia mountain from east to west, from Salcedillo to Cardaño de Abajo. A route that connected Ampurias (Girona) and Finisterre (A Coruña). However, we will start the route in the town of Ventanilla, which is close to Cervera de Pisuerga, towards San Martín de los Herreros, Rebanal de las Llantas, and up to La Lastra.
