Villafría Reservoir
Villafría Reservoir. Villafria Dam. Also known as Villalbeto Dam due to its proximity to the town of Villalbeto. It is named Villafría because it is fed by the Villafría stream. The town of Villafría de la Peña is 5 kilometers away from this body of water and 3 kilometers northeast of Santibañez de la Peña. Constructed in 2011, it began operations in 2014 with a capacity of 12 million cubic meters of water. It does not have a typical dam wall, being regulated by a spillway. Access to the reservoir is possible via the forest track that connects it with Villalbeto, an approximate distance of 1.8 kilometers to the vicinity of the reservoir.
