San Salvador de Cantamuda
San Salvador de Cantamuda is a Collegiate Church located in the northernmost area of the province of Palencia, between Cervera de Pisuerga and the border with the province of Cantabria. This Collegiate Church was built by Countess Doña Elvira de Castilla, and the surrounding population took its name from it. It is situated away from the main population center, and there are no obstructions around it, allowing for a complete view of this beautiful construction. Built during the late 12th and early 13th centuries, it features a Latin Cross floor plan with a central nave and two lower ones, one on each side of the central nave. Small windows and loopholes, a large belfry with a double bell opening, and a cornice with many corbels complete the exterior image of this Collegiate Church, which displays wide streets between columns on its walls.
